MEETS
L
= NFT
(National Travel Fund) League Meets
|
|
League
meets are designed for the beginner and advanced
skaters. All of you should go to league meets.
They are not as intimidating as the Invitationals.
Plus they are only 1 day meets and they are much more
affordable than the Invitationals.
|
The
NTF practice meets have been set up to allow
skaters in our area to attend contests without the
normal expenses of larger speed meets and still have
the competition to prepare them for the regional and
national championships.
These meets are designed for the beginning
speed skaters as well as those preparing for larger
competitions. The
NTF practice meets allow skaters to challenge up in
both JO and Elite divisions.
The expenses are kept down by participating
clubs furnishing all of the officials and support
staff.

Invitational Meets &
S
= SFS League Meets
|
| Invitationals
are just as they sound. They are meets that we as a
team have been invited to attend. Then you, in turn,
have to be invited by your coach to attend. None of
these are mandatory (unless you are Regionals bound and then
the last two are) but we encourage you to compete in at
least 3 Invitationals this year.
|
*
There are 9 regions in
the U.S. We are the
Southern Region which includes 9
states.
* Officially,
anyone can skate Regionals, however,
WE are VERY selective on who skates
Regionals for
SSC.
* The top 4 skaters in
JO (Junior Olympic) qualify to
skate Nationals. The top
three skaters qualify
in Standard.
* If you know
that you will NOT be able to travel to
and skate Nationals (for whatever
reason) --- WE
WILL NOT LET YOU SKATE REGIONALS!!!!
